How the 2022 SCL Final second leg host is determined

MIAMI, Florida – By the end of Tuesday night, October 11, the teams vying for Concacaf glory in the 2022 Scotiabank Concacaf League will be known upon the conclusion of the semifinal round.

The 2022 SCL Final is sure to mark an exciting end to what has been a memorable tournament already among teams from Canada, Central America and the Caribbean.

The second leg matches of the semifinals will also complete the process of determining which team will host the second leg of the Final. The four teams hoping to reach the Final are: Olimpia (HON), Motagua (HON), Alajuelense (CRC) and Real España (HON).

To determine the host of the second leg Final, Concacaf will rank the two finalists based on their results in the Round of 16, Quarterfinals and Semifinals of the competition (wins, draws, and, if required, goal difference).

Through the first leg matches of the semifinals, the standings are as follows:

1. Alajuelense: 13 points, +11GD
2. Olimpia: 11 points, +7GD
3. Real España: 10 points, +3GD
4. Motagua: 9 points, +3GD

Currently, Alajuelense lead Real España in the semifinal series 3-0 on aggregate, while Olimpia and Motagua are locked in a 0-0 draw on aggregate in their semifinal.
