KINGSTON, Jamaica – Capoise of Haiti battled back from a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Waterhouse of Jamaica in their opening match at the 2019 FCCCC on Sunday night at Stadium East in Kingston, Jamaica.
Andre Fletcher had the home side feeling good about things with his opening goal in the 23’.
Waterhouse would then double its lead just five minutes later in the 28’ through Keithy Simpson.
Yet Capoise was undeterred and launched a spirited comeback in the second half.
The Haitians did their damage in a two-minute span in the early part of the second stanza, beginning with an Ivenet Noel goal in the 56’.
That was then followed a minute later in the 57’ by Frantz Moise, who brought the visitors level 2-2.
Both teams sought a winning goal, but none was to be had as the two sides had to settle for a share of the spoils.
Each team will return to action on Tuesday, with Waterhouse facing off against Real Hope, while Capoise will take on Portmore United.
