TEGUCIGALPA, Honduras – Honduras will face Jamaica in an international friendly on February 16, 2017, the Federación Nacional Autónoma de Fútbol de Honduras announced Monday.

The match is scheduled to take place at BBVA Stadium in Houston, Texas, USA.  It will be Honduras’ first visit to the venue since a 2-0 loss to Guatemala in the Copa Centroamericana on September 10, 2014.  Jamaica last played at BBVA on July 11, 2015, posting a 1-0 win over Canada in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

The Hondurans will use the match as preparation for the resumption of World Cup Qualifying in March.  They currently sit in fourth place on three points after two CONCACAF Hexagonal matches.

Jamaica is looking ahead to the Scotiabank CFU Men’s Caribbean semifinals in June and the CONCACAF Gold Cup, which will start on July 7.

In their last meeting, Honduras and host Jamaica battled to a 2-2 draw in World Cup Qualifying on October 15, 2013.
