KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Caribbean Football Union announced Friday that the 2016/17 Caribbean Cup, third-round match scheduled for October 11, 2016, between host St. Kitts & Nevis and Haiti at Warner Park Stadium in Basseterre, has been postponed due to Hurricane Matthew-related reasons.

A new date has not been determined.

Haiti’s other Group 2 game against visiting French Guiana, originally scheduled for October 5, was postponed as well.

The French Guiana-St. Kitts & Nevis encounter slated for Saturday will proceed as scheduled.

The Caribbean Cup is a biennial competition that crowns the region’s champion and qualifies at least four teams to the CONCACAF Gold Cup. In 2015, for the first-ever time, each of the Caribbean’s four representatives – Cuba, Haiti Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago -- advanced past the Gold Cup’s group stage.
