Portland Thorns FC’s Franch named CONCACAF Female Goalkeeper of the Year

MIAMI -- Portland Thorns FC goalkeeper Adrianna Franch was named Tuesday as the 2017 CONCACAF Female Goalkeeper of the Year.

The 27-year-old American played a key role in helping her club to the 2017 National Women’s Soccer League title, keeping a clean sheet as Portland earned a 1-0 win over the North Carolina Courage in the final.

Franch, who played every minute of the Thorns’ championship campaign (24 regular season and 2 playoff games), set a NWSL record for most shutouts in a single regular season with 11.

She was also named the 2017 NWSL Best XI and was the league’s Goalkeeper of the Year.
