Women's Football Day, May 23rd

CONCACAF’s first Women’s Football Day is officially underway! After the formal launch by President Jeffrey Webb via an inspirational video message, 37 Member Associations have now kicked-off their women’s football activities around the region.

Throughout the day, thousands of girls and women will have the opportunity to participate in a celebration of women’s football designed to increase awareness of the sport, promote the many benefits of being involved with the women’s game, and unify the entire CONCACAF region in a day of women’s football for the very first time.

CONCACAF Member Associations are dedicating their time and resources to hosting a multitude of events. Overall, there will be a wide variety of activities taking place, including:

  • 19 football tournaments – from 3 v. 3 to the final of the senior women’s football league
  • 17 grassroots festivals
  • 8 football skills challenges
  • 2 beach soccer festivals/tournaments
  • 2 women’s football forums
  • Other unique activities, including speeches by women’s national team players and ambassadors, a women’s football march around the city, presentations on the importance of living an active and healthy lifestyle, and more!

With so many impactful women’s football events taking place in CONCACAF today, the confederation will be posting photos, videos, and social media messages on each of its communication platforms in order to share the success stories and memorable moments from Women’s Football Day.
