MIDDLESBROUGH, England – Middlesbrough announced Thursday that Trinidad & Tobago international Justin Hoyte has made a permanent move to fellow Championship-side Millwall.

The right-back had been on loan since early November and was expected to return north in January, but agreed to a contract that will keep him in London through the end of the 2014-15 season.

Middlesbrough acquired Hoyte from Arsenal for £3m in August 2008.  The 29-year-old went on to make 162 appearances for the Riverside Stadium outfit, scoring two goals.

Hoyte, who has been a member of various England national youth squads, made his Trinidad debut in a 4-0 friendly loss at Romania on June 4, 2013.  He played in the Soca Warriors’ first two games at the CONCACAF Gold Cup before suffering a groin injury.

Millwall currently occupies 21st place in the standings with 22 points, one above the relegation zone.
