Panama U20s head to Mexico
PANAMA CITY, Panama - The Panamanian under-20 team traveled to Mexico on Saturday for three friendlies prior to the 2013 CONCACAF Under-20 Championship, which will take place in Puebla.

The squad reported to the Estadio Rommel Fernandez in the morning for a training session, before boarding a flight to Pachuca.

Warm-up games have been scheduled against Costa Rica (Feb. 11 & 13) and the Pachuca under-20 team (Feb. 15).

After the conclusion of those matches, Panama will head to Puebla for the CONCACAF event, February 18 - March 3.

The young Canaleros will face Group C rivals Puerto Rico (Feb. 21) and Jamaica (Feb. 23).

Panama qualified for the CONCACAF finals by virtue of goals scored after finishing even on points and goal difference with El Salvador and Guatemala in Central American qualifying Group B. A goal by Jairo Jimenez, a veteran of the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup, in the Panamanians' 1-0 win over Guatemala in the last group game proved to be the difference.
