DRAMATIC COMEBACKS IN LIGA MX QUATERFINALS
There was no shortage of drama in the Liga MX quarterfinals, as both Club Tijuana and Santos Laguna completed comebacks to advance in Mexico's Liguilla. The Xolos gutted out a 2-1 win in Monterrey to eliminate Rayados 3-2 on aggregate, while Santos overcame a 2-0 first leg loss to Tigres and advanced 2-2 on aggregate as the higher seed with a 2-0 win. Meanwhile, Club America eliminated Pumas 6-2 and top seed Toluca held off Morelia 4-4.
BANDITS, VERDES BATTLE TO DRAW
The first leg of the Belize Premier League final is in the books as the Belmopan Bandits and Verdes FC battled to a 1-1 draw on Sunday. Bandits will host the return leg on Saturday.
EL SALVADOR SEMIFINALS SET
The semifinals in the Salvadoran Clausura are set following the results over the weekend in the quarterfinal second legs. Audaz surprised FAS 4-3 on aggregate and will face Santa Tecla, who slipped past Municipal Limeno 1-1. On the other side of the bracket, Alianza handled Sonsonate 5-0 and will clash with Aguila, 1-0 winners over Firpo.
ATLETICO PANTOJA TRIUMPHANT PRIOR TO CCC SEMIFINAL
Atletico Pantoja (3W-0D-2L, 9 points) of the Dominican Republic will head into their Caribbean Club Championship semifinal versus Portmore United on Friday feeling confident after posting a 3-1 win over Inter RD. Armando Maita, Jean Carlos Lopez Moscoso and Darli Noemi Batista scored for the hosts.
COSTA RICAN QUADRANGULAR TIGHTENS UP
With just two matches remaining, the Costa Rican Clausura Quadrangular is as tight as ever. Deportivo Saprissa (2W-1D-1L, 7pts) and Alajuelense (2-1-1, 7) were big winners over the weekend, downing Santos de Guapiles (1-0-3, 3) 3-0 and Herediano (2-0-2, 6) 3-2, respectively. On Wednesday, Saprissa will host Herediano, while Santos travel to Alajuelense.
TAURO, SAN FRANCISCO GRAB ADVANTAGE IN PANAMA SEMIS
2018 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinalists Tauro took a big step toward another Panamanian final with a 2-0 win versus Arabe Unido in their semifinal first leg, while in the other semifinal San Francisco edged Independiente 1-0.
MARATHON, MOTAGUA ADVANCE TO HONDURAN FINAL
Walter Martinez's 77' minute goal was enough to propel higher seeded Marathon past Olimpia 1-1 in the Honduran semifinals. Marathon will face Motagua, who were 3-1 aggregate winners over Real Espana.
