PACHUCA, Mexico – History was made on Monday night as a record 28,955 fans were in attendance at the Estadio Hidalgo for the first leg of the 2017 Liga MX Women’s final between host Pachuca and Guadalajara.
It was the highest attended game of the league’s inaugural season, besting the 25,000 on hand at the Estadio Nou Camp to watch Leon fall 3-1 to visiting Guadalajara on September 11.
Pachuca sent its supporters home happy and earned the advantage heading into Friday’s second leg, winning 2-0 on goals by Lizbeth Angeles (40’) and Monica Ocampo (68’).
