BARRANQUILLA, Colombia.- Fresh off victories in their respective opening matches in Group A in men's soccer at the Central American and Caribbean Games 2018, Honduras and Colombia will each look to stay atop the table when they meet on Sunday.

 Honduras defeated Trinidad and Tobago 2-0 on Friday, while and Colombia downed Costa Rica 1-0, leaving the Catrachos in first place by a difference of +1 over the host country.

 The Hondurans achieved victory on Friday at the Romelio Martinez Stadium thanks to first half goals from former U-20 World Cup captain Denil Maldonado in the 31' and Eduardo Sendel Cruz in the 41'.

In the second match, Colombia, in a hard-fought match, won 1-0 with Christian Mina's score in the 88' representing the difference against Costa Rica. Mina won position between two Costa Rican defenders and finished to earn Colombia the late victory.

The action in Group A will continue on Sunday, with Costa Rica and Trinidad Tobago meeting in a battle of teams seeking their first victory, while Honduras and Colombia will duel for first place in the group.
