Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Cayman Island keep rolling in CU17 Qualifying

BRADENTON, Florida It was another successful day for both Saint Vincent and the Grenadines and the Cayman Islands on Monday in Group A of 2019 Concacaf Under-17 Championship Qualifying in Bradenton, Florida.

A goal in each half from Jahiem Kimanie Pompey powered Vincy Heat to all three points in a 3-0 win over Nicaragua.

Pompey struck in the 37’ and then again in the 54’ from the penalty spot to seal the victory.

The Cayman Islands also made it two wins in two matches with a 3-0 triumph over the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Joshua Small got things going in the 28’, followed by Corey Smith two minutes later in the 30’ to make it 2-0 at halftime.

Jonah Sigsworth then rounded out the scoring in the 56’ to send the Cayman Islands to first place in the group with a 2W-0D-0L 5GF-0GC mark, two goals better than second place Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at 2W-0D-0L 3GF-0GC.

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines will return to action on Wednesday against Grenada, while Nicaragua will do battle with the U.S. Virgin Islands.
