CONCACAF brings Grassroots course to Nicaragua

MANAGUA, Nicaragua -- CONCACAF will hold a three-day grassroots course in Managua, Nicaragua, with 30 local coaches from April 6-9.

The Confederation is offering this unique opportunity as a way to stimulate participation in the game, while establishing an educational structure for coaches in Nicaragua.

Activities on the agenda include:
- Specialized sessions for coaching development;
- Pilot initiative that incorporates a visit to a school in order to promote the benefits of implementing football programs within the local educational system;
- Grassroots festival for approximately from ages 6-12.

The Grassroots program’s primary objective is to educate, encourage and inspire the growth of football throughout the region. It provides a designed platform that presents a path into the sport, allowing youth to develop new skills, while giving them appropriate guidance and coaching.

Leaders from 10 different schools will attend the CONCACAF’s pilot program, which will feature a progressive approach in introducing sports as an educational aid.

Through these initiatives, CONCACAF shares its philosophy of utilizing football as a platform to uphold the ideals of fair play, leadership, team spirit and diversity.
