OTTAWA – The Canadian Soccer Association announced Wednesday that its men’s national team will take on Australia in an international friendly on October 15 at Craven Cottage in London, England.

The Canadians and Socceroos last squared off in 1993, when the sides met during a two-legged playoff in FIFA World Cup Qualifying for USA 1994.  Canada was eliminated 4-1 on penalty kicks after the series ended 3-3 on aggregate as each side won 2-1 at home.

This match will be part of head coach Benito Floro’s second camp since his appointment in July.

In the 61-year-old’s first two friendlies, Canada tied (0-0) and lost (1-0) to Mauritania on September 8 and 10, respectively, in Oliva, Spain.
