GILLINGHAM, England – After stints in Eastern Europe and Scotland, Antigua & Barbuda international Joshua Parker is back in England with Gillingham.
The 26-year-old winger signed a contract with the League One side on Saturday that lasts through the end of the current season.
"It feels refreshing to be back in English football," said Parker, who has played for numerous English clubs, including Queens Park Rangers, AFC Wimbledon, Oldham Athletic and Oxford United. "I'm hard-working, I'm quick, I'm extremely passionate and I hope to bring those qualities into my performances for Gillingham.
"I love playing as a striker and as a winger, but I know in football that managers like to use players across the pitch, so I'm ready to do a job for the club wherever and whenever I'm needed.”
In June 2013, Parker joined Slovenia’s Domzale, where he netted 17 goals in 50 games. His impressive play paved the way for a move to Red Star Belgrade in January 2015. After scoring four goals in 14 games for the Serbian power, he was loaned to Scotland’s Aberdeen.
In 24 appearances for Antigua & Barbuda, Parker has four goals, including two in CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and one in the 2016/17 Scotiabank CFU Men’s Caribbean Cup.
