ST. JOHN’S, Antigua & Barbuda – Estonia scored in the first half and earned a 1-0 win over host Antigua & Barbuda in an international friendly on Tuesday at the Antigua Recreation Ground.

The loss was the Benna Boys’ first at home since a 3-1 setback to St. Lucia on June 15, 2015, in a World Cup qualifier.

Midfielder Pavel Marin, 21, scored in the 25th minute, when he headed into the right side of the net from 12-yards out past goalkeeper Brenton Mohamed off Ats Purje’s right-sided cross.

Antigua & Barbuda midfielder Tamorley Thomas was dangerous throughout the encounter, but Estonian goalkeeper Marko Meerits preserved the shutout.

It was Antigua & Barbuda’s second-ever match again non-CONCACAF opposition and its first since a 3-0 loss to Hungary on December 18, 2005, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

On Saturday, Estonia played host St. Kitts & Nevis to a 1-1 draw.
