GUATEMALA CITY - Guatemala will use six veterans of the recently completed CONCACAF Olympic women's qualifying finals in its bid to win the confederation's Under-20 Women's Championship next month.

The roster announced Wednesday on the Guatemalan federation website is led by Idania Perez, who played in all seven matches in qualifying and the finals for the Chapines' Olympic side and was the co-leading scorer with four goals.

Guatemala was one of the youngest teams at the Vancouver Olympic qualifying event in January, when it lost to the United States and Mexico but finished with a 6-0 victory over the Dominican Republic.

The roster also includes defenders Londy Barrios Castaneda and Marilyn Rivera from the Olympic qualifying side and forward Maria Monterroso, daughter of Guatemala U-20 women's coach Benjamin Monterroso.

Maria Monterroso scored two of Guatemala's goals against the Dominican Republic, and scored four of Guatemala's six goals in Central American U-20 women 's qualifying.

Guatemala opens its bid for the title and one of three CONCACAF berths at the U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan on March 2 against the United States. The tournament will run through March 11 at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.
