Leroux, who scored five goals to win the Golden Shoe award at the World Cup two years ago, scored once in the 23rd minute and twice in the second half - in addition to setting up Kristie Mewis for the go-ahead goal in the fourth minute - to pace the Americans to a 5-0 victory over Switzerland.
The result moved the defending champion United States into second place in Group D with four points, two behind the Korea Republic, and eliminated the European side from any chance of advancing.
Leroux hiked her goal tally to four in two games.
In Augsburg, Renae Cuellar scored her second goal in as many games in the 62nd to pace Mexico past England 1-0 and put Las Aztecas atop Group C.
Mexico improved to four points and ahead of Nigeria on goals scored. Mexico faces Nigeria in its last group match on Wednesday needing only a draw to reach the quarterfinals.
Similarly, the United States faced the Korea Republic on Wednesday, with a draw assuring it of advancing.
After surviving an early scored from a shot by Ana Crnogorcevic that went wide, the United States took the lead when Leroux headed a ball into the path of Mewis, who converted with a left-footed shot that struck the underside of the crossbar before crossing the line.
The Americans capitalized on their possession and chances in the 23rd, settling a failed clearance and enabling Leroux to create her own space for a shot and 2-0 advantage.
Zakiya Bywaters added one of her own two minutes later and Leroux completed the rout with goals in the 52nd and 76th.
Conversely, Mexico was outplayed for much of the match but did enough with Cuellar's goal to secure the victory.
Outshot 21-9 in the rain, Mexico had a fair amount of the possession, but still needed goalkeeper Cecilia Santiago to turn away seven chances to preserve the win.
Charlyn Corral, who scored twice in the CONCACAF championship in January, set up the winning goal, driving a curling ball behind the defense into the area, where Cuellar settled with one touch of her right foot before scoring from 11 meters.
