Bryan Rosenfeld brings Canada's U-17 women back to the CONCACAF finals for a third instance, this time as defending champion. Since August, Canada has beaten two other CONCACAF finalists, Mexico and Trinidad, in a pair of friendlies against each. It also has beaten and drawn with Japan and tied Germany. Rosenfeld's squad includes midfielder Ashley Lawrence, who was not a member of the 2010 CONCACAF championship side but played in two matches at the World Cup in Trinidad later that year.
