While making their first appearance in the CONCACAF women's finals, the Lady Jags will be under-strength missing first-choice goalkeeper Tenyka Francique, starting center back Daria Owen, regular midfielder Shondel Archer and defender Nikkita Persaud, who played six of seven games during qualifying. Most of the absences are due to college commitments with the majority of the team playing in either or Canada the United States. Canadian coach Mark Rodrigues, who also is the director of coaching for the Tampa-St. Petersburg, Florida-based Central Pasco United Soccer Association, will have at his disposal Alison Heydorn and Ashley Rodrigues, who combined for nine of Guyana's 16 goals in qualifying. In the absence of Francique, who plays for Gannon University in Canada, goalkeeping duties likely will fall to 31-year-old Ronnette Cort, who didn't allow a goal in her two appearances in qualifying.
