PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad -- Cuba will host Guyana in the first leg of a playoff for the third and final Caribbean berth in the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, while Guyana will be home for the second leg, the Caribbean Football Union announced Thursday.
Second-round qualifying group winners Trinidad & Tobago and Haiti were awarded the first two berths. Trinidad was undefeated and finished atop Group F that also included Guyana, Barbados and St. Lucia, outscoring their opponents 14-1.
Haiti, likewise, finished atop Group G with a 9-1 goal difference, followed by Cuba, Puerto Rico and Antigua & Barbuda.
Cuba will stage the first leg of the playoff between the group runners-up on June 18. Guyana will complete the series at home on July 2.
The winner will complete the eight-team Women's Gold Cup field, joining North American sides Canada, Mexico and the United States, along with Central American qualifiers Costa Rica and Guatemala.
