HOUSTON - Donis Escober made several saves, including one in the 90th minute, to give Honduras a 0-0 draw with Peru on Wednesday in an international friendly between two sides that used several younger players.

The 31-year-old goalkeeper for Olimpia dived right to block Rinaldo Cruzado and preserve the tie. Escober also thwarted Daniel Chavez after the Peruvian forward made a run into the box in the 72nd minute.

The goalless encounter kept Honduras winless in its last five tries over 13 years against Peru, and was the fourth straight time the two had met on neutral ground in the United States.

A largely Honduran partisan crowd of 9,142 attended the match at BBVA Compass Stadium, home of the Houston Dynamo which also hosted the Guyana-Mexico World Cup qualifier in October.

Honduras extended its unbeaten streak to six since a 2-0 World Cup qualifying loss to Panama in June.

Peru has not won in four matches and has not scored a goal in 248 minutes.
