PEREIRA, Colombia - Henrique scored a pair of goals in the final 10 minutes and Brazil beat Mexico 2-0 in the semifinals of the U-20 World Cup Wednesday, ending El Tri's bid to win both youth titles in the same year.
Mexico had more shots on goal (7-6) and had the better of early chances, but surrendered considerably more possession and eventually fell behind when Henrique out leapt his marker at the edge of the six-yard box and headed in Negueba's cross from the right side in the 80th minute.
Four minutes later, Henrique again was at the end of a swift move down the right. Danilo sent Dudu free on the flank and the Cruzeiro midfielder served a low ball across the area, where Henrique volleyed it a step inside the six for his tournament-leading fifth goal.
The result sends Brazil to Saturday's title game against Portugal, which defeated France 2-0 in the other semifinal earlier Wednesday.
Mexico will play France for third place immediately before the final in Bogota.
