September 10, 2006: Shawn Bishop (46th) had the only goal of the match as Guyana extended its unbeaten streak to 11 games by topping Grenada 1-0 to finish atop (3-0-0 record, 9 points) First Round Group A of the 2007 Digicel Caribbean Cup (Caribbean Qualifier to 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup) at the Ergilio Hato Stadium in Willemstad, Netherlands Antilles (now Curacao) … The Golden Jaguars' unbeaten streak reached 14 games during the Caribbean tournament before losing to St. Vincent & The Grenadines (2-0) during the Final Round Group B in January of the following year.
September 11, 1991: Erick Gallegos (58th) scored the game-winner for visiting Honduras in a 1-0 triumph over Mexico in the Third Round Group A of the CONCACAF Men's Under-23 Olympic Qualifying Tournament at Toluca's Estadio Nemesio Diez … It was the first loss on the field by the Tricolores at home during Olympic Qualifying (Mexico had loss a 2-0 forfeit to the USA in Leon during 1980 tournament) …Mexico and Honduras progressed into the 1992 Final Round Qualifying, however, it was the Tricolores that advanced (along with USA) to the Olympic Football Tournament in Barcelona, Spain.
September 12, 1999: Panama progressed to the Third Round of the 2000 CONCACAF Men's Under-23 Olympic Qualifying Tournament after holding visiting El Salvador to a 1-1 draw in the second leg at Panama City's Estadio Rommel Fernandez and won the Central American Series 2 by an aggregate score of 3-2 … It was the first time the Canaleros had reached to Guatemala and Mexico.
September 13, 2001:The first FIFA Tournament was held in the Caribbean region as Trinidad & Tobago hosted the Men's Under-17 World Cup … The Soca Warriors opened the event with a 2-1 loss to Croatia at Port of Spain's Hasely Crawford Stadium.
September 14, 1976: Goals by Warren Archibald, Leon Carpette and Noel Llewellyn led Trinidad & Tobago to a 3-1 win over host Barbados in a Caribbean First Round Playoff Match for the 1977 CONCACAF Campeonato de Naciones (doubled as a FIFA World Cup Qualifier to Argentina 1978) at Bridgetown's National Stadium … The third-game playoff took place after the Bajans won the first leg (on August 15, and then the Soca Warriors took the return match 16 days later … This was the first time since 1969 that a playoff match was held to determine a winner of a home-and-away CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying series …Trinidad & Tobago was then eliminated in the second round after losing the third-match playoff against Surinam.
September 15, 1980:Adrian Camacho scored four times, while Daniel Astegiano add three more, to lead host CD SC Cruz Azul of Mexico to a 9-1 victory over the USA's Brooklyn Dodgers in the first leg of the North American Second Round Qualification to the 1980 CONCACAF Champions' Cup at the Ciudad Cooperativa … Guillermo Mendizbal and Jesus Ramirez closed out the scoring for the Cementeros ... It was the most goals in a Champions' Cup qualifier since Guatemala's CSD Municipal defeated Diriangen FC of Nicaragua, 13-1, on June 12, 1977 … CD SC Cruz Azul won the second leg (3-2) seven days later to progress to the next round, however, the Cementeros were eliminated by Pumas UNAM of Mexico.
September 16, 2006: The USA and Canada qualified to the 2006 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, after defeating Mexico and host Costa Rica, respectively, at the inaugural CONCACAF Championship in Puntarenas' Playa Jaco … Yuri Morales scored twice, while Benyam Astorga, Anthony Chimienti, Francis Farberoff, Zak Ibsen and Raphael Xexeo added a goal apiece for the Stars & Stripes in a 7-4 victory over the Tricolores … Meanwhile, two goals by Kyriakos Selaidopoulos and one each from Ian Carlos Diaz, Damir Deco Jesic, Sipho Sibiya and Kyle Yamada led the Maple Leafs to a 6-4 triumph over the Ticos … Due to Canada losing the head-to-head tiebreaker against USA (following a 3-0 loss on September 13), the CONCACAF title was awarded to the Stars & Stripes as both teams finished tournament play with 9 points each (3-1 record).
September 17, 2003: CD Toluca played to a 3-3 draw against host CA Monarcas Morelia in the first leg of an all-Mexican Final for the 2003 CONCACAF Champions' Cup at Morelia's Estadio Morelos … Israel Lopez scored twice and Uzziel Lozano added another for the Diablos Rojos, while the Monarquia got two goals from Reinaldo Navia and one by Damian Álvarez … CD Toluca went on to win the second leg (2-1) the following month and capture its second CONCACAF Champions' Cup
