 CONCACAF unveils 2011/12 Champions League Quarterfinal Schedule
CONCACAF announced today the quarterfinal schedule for the 2011/12 CONCACAF Champions League. The Championship Round opens with defending champion Monterrey going on the road to face Mexican rival Morelia on Tuesday, March 6.
Toronto FC will be home against the LA Galaxy in the first leg of their all-Major League Soccer knockout round match on Wednesday, March 7, with the USA's Seattle Sounders hosting Santos of Mexico later that same evening.
The first leg ends on Thursday, March 8, when Mexico's Pumas travels to El Salvador for a meeting with Isidro Metapan.
Second-leg action starts on Tuesday, March 13, with Monterrey taking on Morelia at home, followed the next day by Santos-Seattle and LA Galaxy-Toronto FC. Pumas will close quarterfinal play on March 15 by welcoming Isidro Metapan to Mexico City.
The quarterfinal winners will advance to the semifinals March 27-29 and April 3-5, with the two-leg final set for April 17-19 and April 24-26. For the full schedule please click here.

 Canada, Antigua and Guyana grab spots in next round
In the fifth matchday of the third round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, Canada, Antigua & Barbuda and Guyana grabbed the final three spots in the next round.
Canada tied host St. Kitts and Nevis 0-0 on Friday to win Group D. The two teams will meet again on Tuesday in Toronto.
Guyana shocked Trinidad & Tobago, beating the Soca Warriors 2-1 at home on Friday to win the Group B title. The teams will meet in the final Group stage match on Tuesday in Port-of-Spain.
Before a crowd of 8,000 spectators, Antigua & Barbuda delivered the final surprise of the round with a 1-0 victory over Haiti to clinch the Group F title. The teams will meet again on Tuesday in Haiti with nothing at stake.
In other matches, Group A winner El Salvador defeated host Suriname 3-1 on Friday. The teams will meet in San Salvador on Tuesday. Elsewhere in the group , the Dominican Republic beat the Cayman Islands 4-0 in the first of two meetings in five days. The teams tied 1-1 in George Town on Monday.
In Group B, Bermuda rallied to beat Barbados 2-1 at the Bermuda National Sports Center before winning by the same score at the same location on Monday.
In Group C, Nicaragua overcame Dominica 1-0 to clinch second-place in the three-team group. Panama will face Dominica at home on Tuesday in the final group match. Puerto Rico defeated Saint Lucia 4-0 in Group D action last Friday in Bayamon. The Boricuas won again on Monday, beating Saint Lucia 3-0, this time in Mayaguez.
In Group E, Belize grabbed a 1-1 tie at home against Saint Vincent & the Grenadines. Deon McCauley scored his 11th of qualifying for the Central Americans.
Also in the group, leaders Guatemala defeated Grenada 3-0 in Guatemala City. The two teams will meet again on Tuesday in Grenada.
Lastly, in Frederikstad, visiting Curacao defeated the U.S. Virgin Islands 3-0 on Friday. The teams will meet again on Tuesday on Willemstad.

 CONCACAF Men's Olympic qualifying tournament to be played in Carson, Nashville and Kansas City
CONCACAF announced that its 2012 Men's Olympic qualifying tournament will be held in three cities in the United States -- Carson, CA; Nashville, TN; and Kansas City, KS, from March 22 to April 2.
The tournament will determine the confederation's two representatives at the 2012 Olympic Games. One of the four-team groups will be contested at The Home Depot Center in Carson, while the other group will play in Nashville's LP Field, home to the Tennessee Titans of the National Football League.
The semifinals and final will be played in the Kansas City, Kansas' LIVESTRONG Sporting Park, which opened in June of this year and is home to Major League Soccer's Sporting Kansas City. Six teams have qualified for the competition thus far: automatic North American qualifiers the United States, Canada and Mexico; plus El Salvador, Honduras and Panama from Central America.
The final two qualifiers will be decided in the final round of Caribbean qualifying, featuring Trinidad & Tobago, Suriname, Cuba and host St. Kitts & Nevis, played November 24-28 in Basseterre.

 Mexico, Honduras, Panama and the U.S.victorious in Friday friendlies
Mexico defeated Serbia 2-0 on Friday at home in Queretaro. El Tri received goals from Carlos Salcido and Javier Hernandez to give coach Jose Manuel "Chepo" de la Torre his first win on Mexican soil.
On Monday Honduras defeated Serbia 2-0 on goals from Jerry Bengtson.
Panama got first half goals from Gabriel Gomez and Blas Perez to beat Costa Rica 2-0 in a friendly Friday night at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez. Panama will play Dominica at home on Tuesday in its final World Cup qualifying match in Group C of Round 2. The Canaleros have already won the group and qualified for the next round.
Costa Rica will host World Cup champion Spain on Tuesday at the Estadio Nacional in San Jose.
The United States fell to France 1-0 in front of a near-capacity crowd of 70,018 fans at Stade de France, site of the host country's triumph in the 1998 FIFA World Cup Final. The game's lone goal was scored in the 72nd minute by second-half substitute Loïc Rémy.
In its final match of 2011, the U.S. defeated Slovenia 3-2 today. The U.S. received goals from Edson Buddle, Clint Dempsey and Jozy Altidore as captain Carlos Bocanegra madehis 100th international appearance.

 Borja among 30 inducted into Mexican Football Hall of Fame
Enrique Borja, CONCACAF's Director of Strategic Alliances, was one of many historic figures to be inducted as the first members into the Mexico's Football Hall of Fame on Tuesday during a star-studded ceremony at the Auditorio Gota de Plata.
Thirty players, coaches and administrators, from Mexico and around the globe, were honored for their remarkable sporting achievements; forever to be remembered in the Hall's Pachuca location.
"This Hall of Fame honor was achieved for each of those who have gone through this beautiful sport of football, I am proud to be here with big stars. I am also especially grateful to two friends, Aaron Padilla and Carlos Reinoso," said Borja. "Now I know that when they see my name, they'll also know that my partners/teammates and coaches are behind me."
The late Guillermo Cañedo, a former FIFA Senior Vice President and CONCACAF Vice President, was also inducted posthumously.
