Tempete reaches CFU club semifinals
Haitian side Tempete FC became the third team to reach the semifinals of the Caribbean club championship, outlasting Caledonia AIA of Trinidad on penalties after a 1-0 loss.
Sunday's result in St. Marc, Haiti, left the two sides tied on aggregate 1-1, sending the series to the tiebreaker where Tempete prevailed 3-2. Tempete joins Guyana's Alpha United and Trinidad's Defence Force in the semifinals. Three teams will qualify from the Caribbean Club Champions Cup for next season's CONCACAF Champions League.
The remaining club to reach the semifinals will be either the defending champion Puerto Rico Islanders or Walking Boyz of Suriname. The Islanders needed a injury time strike by Jamie Cunningham on Saturday to earn a 1-1 draw with Walking Boyz in the first leg of their second-round encounter.

CD Guadalajara drew with regular-season leader Tigres 1-1 on Saturday to advance on a 4-2 aggregate, and will face Pumas in the semifinals of the Mexican Clausura Liguilla playoffs. Pumas eliminated Apertura champion Monterrey 2-0 on Sunday and overcame a loss in Monterrey in the opening match. In the other semifinal, Cruz Azul will face Morelia. The Azulinos drew 0-0 on Saturday to complete a 2-1 aggregate victory, while Morelia defeated America 3-2 on Sunday to finish a 5-3 aggregate win. Both semifinals will be played on Thursday and Sunday. The finalists of the Clausura will earn berths in the CONCACAF Champions League along with Apertura qualifiers Monterrey and Santos Laguna.
Alajuelense won the first leg of the Costa Rican finals on Sunday, 1-0 over San Carlos. The second leg of the Verano finals will be played Saturday. with the winner securing a place in the Champions League. Since Alejuelense has already qualified as the Champion of the Invierno Season, San Carlos can advance to the Champions League with a win. However, if they lose, Herediano the runner-up to Alejuelense in the Invierno Season will advance since it has accumulated more total points over the two seasons.
Olimpia and Motagua drew 2-2 in the opening match of the Honduran Clausura finals Sunday, meaning the title will be decided Sunday when Olimpia hosts the second leg. The winner will join Apertura champion Real Espana in the Champions League.
Alianza will play Deportivo FAS on Sunday in a single-game final of the Salvadoran Torneo Clausura. FAS defeated Apertura Champion Isidro Metapan 2-0 on Sunday to advance on a 5-4 aggregate. Alianza drew 1-1 with Luis Angel Firpo after winning the first match 2-1. The winner will join Metapan in the next Champions League.
Municipal and Comunicaciones will meet Thursday and Sunday to decide the Guatemalan Torneo Clausura crown. Comunicaciones defeated Heredia 2-1 on aggregate, while Municipal beat Deportivo Malacateco 1-0 to set up the finals pairing. The same two teams met in the Apertaura championship with Comunicactiones winning on penalties.
San Francisco and Chorrillo will meet in a single-game final in the Torneo Clausura in Panama on Saturday. The winner of the Torneo Clausura in Panama will advance to next season's CONCACAF Champions League along with Tauro FC.
Fellow Major League Soccer sides Toronto FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps FC will clash for the Nutrilite Canadian Championship final series beginning May 18 in Vancouver. The second leg will be played May 25 in Toronto.
Toronto FC defeated FC Edmonton 1-0 on Wednesday to complete a 4-0 aggregate win. Vancouver reached the final with a 1-1 draw in extra time against the Montreal Impact. Vancouver won the first leg in Montreal, but the Impact led 1-0 after 90 minutes in the second leg, forcing extra time when Vancouver's Mouloud Akloul scored off a rebound to send his team to the final.
The winner will represent Canada in the Champions League.
Guatemala invited to the Grand Prix de Futsal
Guatemala has been invited to the Grand Prix de Futsal in Manaus, Brazil.
Guatemala will be participating for the third time in the international tournament, set for October 21-31.
