 Teams prepare for U-17 in Jamaica
Teams headed to the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship in Jamaica continue their final preparations this week, getting in their last friendlies with the tournament less than two weeks away.
The United States made an early trip to Jamaica, drawing 0-0 with the Caribbean host on Friday and winning 2-1 on Sunday Previously, Jamaica spent a month in Brazil for a series of 10 matches.
The young Reggae Boyz won three, lost five and drew two. Jamaica's Caribbean neighbor,
Trinidad and Tobago, will travel to Barbados on Sunday for a tune-up with another fellow U-17 championship qualifier.
The junior Soca Warriors defeated local clubs St. Clair's Coaching School 5-2 on Friday and Stokey Vale 6-2 on Sunday. The team also will face their U-20 counterparts on Friday at Marvin Lee stadium. Honduras traveled to Miami on Monday where it was to face Haiti on Tuesday and local club Miami FC a day later.
On Saturday, the Catrachos will face the United States before traveling to Jamaica on Monday. Panama is in the midst of a Colombia tour against local club teams.
The team coached by Jorge Dely Valdes lost to Independiente Medellin's U-20 team 4-0 on Friday before falling 1-0 to Atletico Nacional's U-20 side on Sunday. The team will also play local clubs Ciclones and Itaguí this week.

 Rugamas to remain through Gold Cup
Jose Luis Rugamas will continue as manager of the Salvadoran national team through the Gold Cup in June, receiving a six-month contract extension following the fourth-place finish of Los Cuscatlecos at the Copa Centroamericana.
The Salvadoran Football Federation reportedly had been negotiating with Spanish coach Juan Manuel Lillo heading into and during the Central American championship, but it announced on January 25 that Rugamas would remain through the CONCACAF tournament.
Rugamas had been installed as an interim manager following the 2009 resignation of Carlos de los Cobos, who departed after El Salvador had been eliminated from World Cup qualifying. U.S. cancels upcoming friendly against Egypt
The United States has cancelled its scheduled friendly against Egypt in Cairo on February 9 due to current conditions in the North African country, the U.S. Soccer Federation announced Monday.
Demonstrations that began Tuesday demanding the ouster of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak have left at least 125 dead, reports said.
Its next matches will be against Argentina on March 26 in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and three days later against Paraguay in Nashville, Tennessee.

 Mexico finishes third in Copa Latina de Fútbol Playa
CONCACAF Beach Soccer champion Mexico finished third in the Copa Latina de Fútbol Playa held in Rio Quente, Brazil on Sunday.
The team coached by Ramon Raya defeated Argentina 7-6. Mexico lost its first two games in the tournament to Uruguay and Brazil.
