 Digicel finals to start Friday in Martinique
The final round of the Digicel Caribbean Cup final round will begin Friday when Trinidad & Tobago faces Cuba and host Martinique take on Grenada.
The four teams that advance to the semifinals of the tournament will qualify to next summer's CONCACAF Gold Cup.
The eight teams are split into two groups - Cuba, Trinidad, Grenada and Martinique are in Group H while Guyana, Antigua & Barbuda, Guadeloupe and defending champion Jamaica are in Group G.
The final and third place game will take place on December 5 at Pierre Aliker Stadium.

 Clubs in Mexico and Central America seek 2011-12 Champions League qualification
Mexico
America will play Santos and Monterrey will play Pumas this week in the semifinals of the 2010 Apertura season in Mexico. America knocked off San Luis 4-1 on Saturday after a 0-0 tie on Wednesday. Santos advanced with a tight 2-1 aggregate victory over Jaguares. Monterrey tied Pachuca 4-4 over two legs but advanced thanks to finishing higher in the regular season standings. Pumas shocked regular season leader Cruz Azul 2-0 away in the second leg after losing the first match 2-1. The two finalists will qualify for the 2011-12 Champions League.
El Salvador
Alianza and Firpo qualified to the semifinals of the Salvadoran Torneo Apertura with a week to spare in the current season. Both teams will join current leader Metapan and either Aguila or Athletico Balboa. The winner of the Torneo Apertura will qualify to the 2011-12 Champions League.
Honduras
Victoria will face Olimpia and Marathon will meet Real Espana in the semifinals of the Torneo Apertura in Honduras beginning Wednesday. The winner of the Apertura will advance to next year's Champions League.
Panama
With a week to go in the Panamanian Torneo Apertura, Árabe Unido and Tauro qualified to the semifinals this weekend. Tauro had qualified last week and the final berth will be decided between Chorrillo and Sporting SM this weekend. The winner of the Panamanian season will qualify to next year's CONCACAF Champions League.
Costa Rica
Santos will face Herediano and Cartigenes will meet Alajuelense en in the semifinals of the Torneo Invierno in Costa Rica. The matches will be played this Wednesday and Sunday. The winner will qualify to the 2011-12 Champions League.

 American women take 1-0 advantage against Italy
The United States women gained a 1-0 advantage in the first leg of its World Cup playoff series on Saturday in Padua, Italy. The Americans won on a goal from Alex Morgan in injury time after she had come on minutes before.
The two-time World Champions now need only a draw in the second leg on Nov. 27 in Bridgeview, Ill, to claim a spot next year in Germany.

 Guatemala beats Nicaragua 3-0 in first leg of U-17 playoff
Guatemala defeated Nicaragua 3-0 in Managua in the first leg of its U-17 playoff on Saturday. The second leg will be played next Friday at Guatemala City's Estadio Mateo Flores.
The series winner advances to the CONCACAF Under-17 Championship February 14-28 in Jamaica along with Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

 Suriname beats Aruba in U-20 Qualifying
Suriname defeated Aruba in 4-1 in an Under-20 Caribbean qualifying Group D on Saturday. Suriname had won the first leg at home 7-2. Suriname will now face the winner of the series between Trinidad & Tobago and St. Vincent and the Grenadines that will be decided on Nov. 24. Trinidad won the first leg 8-0.
The group Winner will advance to the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Guatemala in April along with Cuba, Guadeloupe and Jamaica April while the runner-up will play against the other three group 2nd place teams, Netherlands Antilles, Guyana & Bermuda for a the fifth and final CFU berth in the Finals.

 Tinoco reelected as UNCAF President; Li elected vice-president
Rafael Tinoco was reelected President of UNCAF this past week. Tinoco has served as UNCAF president since 2006.
Eduardo Li was also elected as the organization's Vice President. Li is the President of the Costa Rican Football Federation.
The voting was to take place at the UNCAF Congress in January but as both candidates ran unopposed they were automatically named to their positions for the period 2011-2015.

 U.S. beats South Africa, Panama continues hot streak
The U.S. beat South Africa 1-0 on Wednesday in Capetown as 17 year-old Juan Agudelo scored minutes into his international debut.
It was the second straight victory for the United States in the Nelson Mandela Challenge and third win in as many matches against South Africa.
Goals from Luis Tejada and Aramis Haywood lifted Panama to a 2-0 win over Honduras in a friendly match played at the Estadio Rommel Fernandez on Wednesday.
The victory was Panama's fourth in its last five outings, while Honduras is winless in 12 of its last 13 games.
Panama travels to Honduras for a December 18 match in La Ceiba.
Guatemala defeated Guyana 3-0 on Wednesday in Kennesaw, Georgia. Guillermo "Pando" Ramírez scored two goals for the Guatemalans.
Guatemala will play Mexico's Club America on Dec. 29 at the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
In the debut for new coach Ricardo Lavolpe, Costa Rica tied Jamaica 0-0 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on Thursday.

 Draw results, schedule for Beach Soccer Championship to be released Wednesday
The draw to for the 2010 CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship will be held Wednesday, with a schedule of matches to follow.
A record eight teams will compete for the CONCACAF Beach Soccer Championship December 1-5 in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, the confederation announced Wednesday.
The draw will divide the eight teams into two groups of four.
The championship will determine CONCACAF's two qualifiers for next year's Beach Soccer World Cup in Italy.
El Salvador and Costa Rica represented CONCACAF in the 2009 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
