Remaining quarterfinal berths to be decided in final week of Group Stage

Five quarterfinal berths remain up for grabs in the CONCACAF Champions League, with next week's final round of the Group Stage to determine the last spots in the knockout round.

Cruz Azul and Real Salt Lake have clinched their places from Group A, while Monterrey has secured its berth from Group C. Cruz Azul and Real Salt Lake are tied on points and play each other on the October 19 in Salt Lake to decide the Group winner.

Group B is up for grabs as Santos leads with 10 points and will host Municipal, in third place with eight points, on October 19. The Columbus Crew, in second with nine points will travel to Trinidad to face already eliminated Joe Public on October 21.

Saprissa and Marathón remain in contention for the second quarterfinal berth in Group C, with the Costa Rican club in second place with seven points and having to travel to Seattle on October 19. Marathon is a point behind in third and at home against Monterrey a day later.

Lastly, Olimpia leads Group D with 10 points and will face the second-place Puerto Rico Islanders on October 20. Toluca, in third place with seven points, will host last-place FAS on earlier the same night.

CONCACAF TV to stream select Champions League games live

CONCACAF TV will stream all eight matches from the final week of the Champions League's Group Stage at the CONCACAF.com Web site.

Four games will be available October 19, three on October 20 and one on October 21, all subject to regional broadcast restrictions.

Estadio Quintana Roo to share Women's World Cup Qualifying

Group B of the Women's World Cup Qualifying tournament has been moved from Playa del Carmen to Cancun, Mexico, allowing the entire eight-team event to be played in the Yucatan Peninsula resort.

The United States, Costa Rica, Haiti and Guatemala will play their matches in Estadio Quintana Roo, home of Mexican first-division club Atlante FC, while Group A will remain at Estadio Beto Avila.

The previously announced schedule of dates remains unchanged except for the championship and third-place match, which will be played at Quinana Roo instead of Beto Avila.

The semifinals will be played at Beto Avila.

Jamaica qualifies for U-20 Championship

Craig Foster scored a pair of goals in the first 26 minutes to lead Jamaica to a 2-0 victory over Guyana on Sunday and a place in the CONCACAF Under-20 Championship.

Jamaica finished atop Caribbean Group C with three wins in as many games and outscoring its opponents 21-1.

St. Kitts, St. Vincent, Puerto Rico advance to second round in Digicel Caribbean Cup

St. Kitts & Nevis and St. Vincent & the Grenadines advanced to the second round of Caribbean Cup on Sunday, finishing atop Group B based on head-to-head results and eliminating Barbados.

St. Kitts defeated Montserrat 4-0, and St. Vincent drew 0-0 with Barbados on Sunday, leaving St. Kitts, St. Vincent and Barbados all tied with five points.

But St. Kitts scored a total of two goals in games against St. Vincent and Barbados - a pair of 1-1 draws, while St. Vincent and Barbados managed only one in their games against the three teams. That left St. Kitts atop the group, while St. Vincent edged out Barbados on goal difference in all games in the group.

Chris Megaloudis scored his third goal in as many games and Gadiel Figueroa added a late insurance tally to give Puerto Rico a 2-0 victory over the Cayman Islands on Wednesday, sending it to the second round.

Stadiums announced for 2011 U-17 World Cup

TSM Corona in Torreón, Estadio Omnilife in Guadalajara, Estadio Morelos in Morelia, Estadio Huracán in Pachuca and the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City were announced Friday as the venues for next year's FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Mexico.

Local organizing committee member Yon de Luis made the announcement, which also included that Estadio Corregidora in Queretaro will be used as an alternative venue. The final will be played at the Estadio Azteca.






Plata farewell match highlights friendlies

Guatemala honored career scoring leader Juan Carlos Plata with a farewell match Saturday, celebrating his last game in a Chapines uniform with a 4-2 victory over Belize in San Jose, Guatemala. Johnny Brown, Mario Castellanos, Dwight Pezzarossi and Carlos Figueroa scored for Guatemala while Harrison Roches and Elroy Kuylen replied for Belize. The match highlighted a number of friendlies involving CONCACAF sides that filled the international fixture date.

Canada tied Ukraine 2-2 on Friday in Kiev. Simeon Jackson and Atiba Hutchinson gave the Canadians a 2-0 first-half lead before Artem Milevsky and Anatoliy Tymoschuk equalized with second-half tallies.

Also Friday, Costa Rica's winless streak reached five games with a 2-0 loss away to Peru, while Blas Perez gave Panama 1-0 over El Salvador on in Panama City.

Honduras drew 1-1 with New Zealand on Friday in Auckland, rallying on Walter Martinez's 64th-minute goal that left the Catrachos winless in three games following the World Cup.

On Saturday, the United States twice took a lead on goals by Jozy Altidore and Oguchi Onyewu before settling for a 2-2 draw with Poland at Soldier Field in Chicago. J

Jamaica beat Trinidad & Tobago for the second time in two months, winning 1-0 Sunday on a penalty kick by Dane Richards to give the Reggae Boyz their third win in as many games in Kingston this year.

The schedule of friendlies continues Tuesday with Honduras facing Guatemala in Los Angeles, Panama hosting Peru, El Salvador at Costa Rica, the United States at home against Colombia, and Mexico welcoming Venezuela to Ciudad Juarez.

Mexican women head to South Korea for 2010 Peace Queen Cup

In preparation for the 2010 CONCACAF Women's World Cup Qualifying later this month, Mexico will travel to Suwon, South Korea for the 2010 Peace Queen Cup from October 17-23 Mexico will face Australia on October 17 and Chinese Taipei four days later in Group B.

The six-team biennial tournament also features England, New Zealand and the host South Korea in Group A.

U.S. Women draw with China in warm-up match

Alex Morgan scored her first international goal to give the United States women's national team a 1-1 draw against China on Wednesday in Chester, Pennsylvania.

The result preserved the American's 48-game unbeaten streak on home soil.






Costa Rica, Guatemala to compete at 2010 Grand Prix de Futsal

For a second consecutive year, Costa Rica and Guatemala will compete at the annual Grand Prix de Futsal in Anapolis, Brazil, October 17-24.

Costa Rica will play in Group A along with Czech Republic, Libya and five-time defending champion Brazil. Meanwhile, CONCACAF champion Guatemala, which reached the quarterfinals in 2009, will face on Iran, Portugal and Russia in Group D.
