 Columbus win to kick off Week 4 of Group Stage
The Columbus Crew avenged a 1-0 loss in August in Torreón, México by defeating Santos 1-0 on Tuesday night to open the fourth round of the CONCACAF Champions League Group Stage. The same night, Toronto FC tied 0-0 with Cruz Azul to become only the third MLS team to gain a point in Mexico in the tournament's history.
Real Salt Lake will travel to Panama to play Arabe on Wednesday in Group A while Group C leader Monterrey could possibly be the first team to clinch a quarterfinal berth when it faces the Seattle Sounders at home. Later that night, Marathon will be host Saprissa and the Puerto Rico Islanders will be at FAS.
The round will conclude Thursday when Joe Public hosts Municipal, and Toluca travels to Honduas to face Olimpia.

CONCACAF TV will stream live select matches from this year's Champions League at the CONCACAF.com Web site, including six from the fourth week of the Group Stage.
Two games each will be available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, all subject to regional broadcast restrictions.

 CONCACAF to hold Extraordinary Congress in Trinidad on Friday
CONCACAF will hold its 2010 Extraordinary Congress on Friday in Port-of-Spain, Trinidad. The 72-hour event will serve as a meeting for all forty national associations of CONCACAF as well as the confederation's many committees.
On Thursday, the CONCACAF Executive Committee will meet to discuss the upcoming competitions in 2011 including the Gold Cup, the Champions Leauge, Men's U-17 and U-20 Qualifying, the Panamerican Games and Olympic Qualifying.
The event, which will be hosted in the home country of CONCACAF President Jack Warner, will also feature the presence of FIFA President Sepp Blatter.

 Haiti hires Edson Tavares to coach national team
The Haitian Football Federation (FHF) announced that it has appointed Edson Tavares as manager of the men's national team. The four-year contract was the result of a cooperative agreement between the FHF and Viva Rio, a Brazilian non-governmental organization.
His coaching career has taken him around the globe and included stints in China, Vietnam, Tunisia, Kuwait, Jordan and Switzerland.
Haiti will start qualifying play for the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup in November after receiving a bye into the second round of the Digicel Caribbean Cup. Trinidad defeat Antigua 1-0
Trinidad & Tobago defeated Antigua & Barbuda 1-0 in a friendly on Sunday at the Antigua Recreation Center.
The match's lone goal was scored by Devon Jorsling and broke the Soca Warrior's three-game winless streak.

 U.S. Virgin Islands advances in Caribbean U-20 qualifying
Derrick Smith Jr. scored a goal in each half and the U.S. Virgin Islands defeated Turks & Caicos Islands 3-0 on September 14 to advance to Group C of Caribbean qualifying for the CONCACAF U-20 Championship.
The two teams drew 0-0 on September 8.
The U.S. Virgin Islands will join Jamaica, Grenada and Guyana in Group C October 6-10 in Georgetown, Guyana. Group A will consist of Cuba, St. Kitts & Nevis, the Netherlands Antilles and the British Virgin Islands for play November 7-11 in Kralendijk, Bonaire, while Antigua & Barbuda, Haiti, Guadeloupe and Bermuda will play in Abymes, Guadeloupe, October 20-24.
Group D will be played in three two-leg series, with Trinidad facing St. Vincent and the Grenadines, while Aruba and Suriname square off. The winners of the two series will then face each other for the group title. The group winners will qualify for the CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Guatemala in April while the four runners-up will advance to a second group stage for the fifth and final Caribbean berth.
