CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUARTERFINAL SPOTS UP FOR GRABS

Pumas, Cruz Azul and Pachuca already have qualified for the CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinals, leaving the five remaining spaots to be decided on the last match day of the Group Stage next week. Arabe Unido holds a three-point advantage over the Dynamo, yet Houston will advance if both teams finish with 10 points. Despite having won four of five games, Toluca has yet to qualify for the quarterfinals after losing its last match to Marathon 2-0 in San Pedro Sula.

Both spots in Group B will be decided between Toluca, first with 12 points, and Marathon and D.C., both of which have nine points. Toluca will win the group with a win or tie or even if it loses, on goal difference since it holds a lead of 7 goals over DC United and 15 over Marathon. Columbus, who has seven points, travels to face the already eliminated Puerto Rico Islanders on October 20, while Saprissa, in third place with five points, hosts Cruz Azul the same day. If the teams tie on eight points, the Crew will advance based on the head-to-head results.
