Although Panama has qualified for the CONCACAF Olympic qualifying finals the past three tries, it has only won two games out of eight. Manager Julio Dely Valdes, also the coach of the senior Panamanian national team, will utilize four veterans from the side he coached to the semifinals of last year's Gold Cup. Los Canaleros also will have six members from the team that finished fourth at the 2010 CONCACAF U-20 Championship in Guatemala. Panama will have eight players who compete for clubs outside of Panama, but will not have Allan Hernandez nor Rolando Blackburn.
