For first time at the Olympic level - and only the third time at the U-20 or U-23 - since 1996, El Salvador will make an appearance at the CONCACAF finals. The 30-man preliminary roster designated by coach Mauricio Alfaro draws heavily upon four clubs: six players each chosen from Atletico Marte and 2012 CONCACAF Champions League quarterfinalist Isidro Metapan, five from 2012 Champions League qualifier Alianza and four from Firpo. The cast is led by Metapan forward Lester Blanco and teammate Andres Flores, who combined had played 15 games in this season's Champions League before the quarterfinals.
