Canada coach Tony Fonseca will bring a relatively young team to Nashville. His preliminary roster included 17-year-old midfielder Samuel Piette of France's FC Metz and will have as many as eight players from Major League Soccer clubs, including Doneil Henry and Matt Stinson (FC Toronto), Nana Attakora (San Jose) and Russell Teibert (Vancouver). Forward Marcus Haber is the only player to return from 2008 Olympic qualifying. Canada has not qualified for the Olympics since 1984 and has won only one game in its last three qualifying attempts. Canada has the honor of being the only CONCACAF nation to win the men's soccer competition at the Olympics, capturing the gold medal at the 1904 Games via Ontario club side Galt FC.
