Affiliated with the game for nearly 40 years, Julio Rocha began as a player with Diriangen FC and eventually joined the Nicaraguan national team. After a brief stint as coach of Diriangen, Mr. Rocha became the General Secretary of the Nicaraguan Federation in 1988. Two years later he was elected President and served in that position for 22 years, until 2012 when he became a FIFA Development Director based in Panama . Mr. Rocha became President of the Nicaraguan Olympic Committee in 1997 and received the FIFA Centennial Order of Merit in 2004.
