Oscar Thamar's professional life has been dedicated to entertaining people for more than a half-century - first on the stage, then to the service of the betterment of football. After appearing as part of a top-class club of singers, dancers and musicians, Mr. Thamar began his career in football in 1974 as a director of a local club in his native Guatemala. Mr. Thamar joined CONCACAF in 1977 and became Deputy General Secretary a year later. He became the first Secretary General of the Central American Football Union (UNCAF) when the body was created in 1990.
