Dr. Gerard Bean was President of the Bermuda Football Association for an unprecedented 18 years before stepping down in 1987. An optometrist by profession, Dr. Bean's other outstanding accomplishments include being a member of the CONCACAF Executive Committee for 13 years; a member of President of the Bermuda Olympic Association (1971-1987) and a member of the FIFA Medicial Committee and FIFA Board of Appeals. In 1977 he was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by H.M. The Queen.
