Mordy Maduro was truly a pioneer, in both re-building football on Curacao and in reaching out to build bridges within the Netherlands Antilles, as well as throughout the region which would become CONCACAF and even further afield to FIFA itself. The first President of the Netherlands Antilles Football Federation and first FIFA Vice-President from the region, Mr. Maduro led the way for many others in the region's football.
