Mordy Maduro was truly a pioneer, not only in re-building football on Curacao but in reaching out to build bridges within the Netherlands Antilles, then throughout the region which would become CONCACAF and further afield to FIFA itself. From the first President of the Netherlands Antilles Football Federation to the first FIFA Vice-President from the region, Mordy Maduro led the way for many others.
