SAN JOSE, COSTA RICA -- The FIFA Futuro III course in administration and management concluded Friday at the Hotel Herradura. Nicaragua's Julio Rocha, an official FIFA instructor, conducted the course that was attended by the general managers of clubs from Costa Rica's Primera Division, Liga de Ascenso and other affiliated leagues.
"There were a variety of topics that will undoubtedly be a great contribution to the development of national football," said Joseph Ramirez, general secretary of Costa Rican Football Federation. "We are looking to upgrade national leadership regarding professionalism in the management of clubs to ensure proper development of football,"
Among the topics covered were human resources, club and general management, FIFA Statutes, finance, planning, group work, communication, event management, competitions and marketing.
FIFA provided all the necessary material for the participants' use throughout the workshop.
"We can't simulate the administrative form that FIFA uses to manage its corporation, when it is applied to a club or an associated member," commented Rocha. "But we do want to find the application of a manual with basic rules for better functioning and transparency in fundamental departments of all organized sports,"
