Zurich, Switzerland - Furthering Costa Rica's commitment to regain the privilege of hosting the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, FIFA Vice President and CONCACAF President, Jeffrey Webb, presented a detailed report from the Costa Rican Football Federation (FEDEFUTBOL) regarding their financial commitment, stadium infrastructure and Local Organizing Committee to FIFA's Executive Committee, who approved the new strategy.

"We are very pleased to see FIFA's confidence in Costa Rica's reinforced action plans, which will surely deliver the successful staging of FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup 2014," said President Webb. "The strong commitment from Costa Rican President Laura Chinchilla Miranda to hosting this important tournament working in close synergy with the Costa Rican Football Federation and President Eduardo Li was a key assurance for the Executive Committee's reclaimed confidence."

On the technical side and with the goal to reach a higher readiness following FIFA standards, Costa Rica has offered a new strategy that will ensure the successful staging of the tournament in three stadiums (National, Saprissa and Alajuela-replacing Jaco) used for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers and CONCACAF games, which only need partial renovations that will last approximately 5 months.

Additionally, as per the anticipated infrastructure timeline, the fourth stadium (Liberia) will be fully reconditioned and ready for FIFA Tournament Tests on December 2013. All renovation permits have already been approved and the construction contracting authorization has been established for a swift commencement of renovations.

Furthering their commitment and support to regain the privilege of hosting the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, Costa Rica has reinforced their organization by including representatives from the central government, the Ministry of Sports, the local governments and key stakeholders, which will strengthen the local task force. They have also incorporated a professional support team in order for the LOC to meet and exceed the standards required by FIFA.

"CONCACAF acknowledges the efforts made by the Costa Rica Football Federation to fulfill the stipulated deadlines and would like to express its gratitude for their commitment to promoting women's football," concluded Webb.
