GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands -- The first International Coaching Course conducted jointly by CONCACAF and the English Football Association (FA) has concluded on a high note. This working relationship between both organizations, through a Development Partnership announced in October, was created to advance education and football trainings in the Confederation.

The week-long Foundation Level program, attended by 21 coaches from 20 CONCACAF Member Associations, left a lasting imprint on instructor and students alike.

"I have found the course to be a most enjoyable experience," expressed Chris Dowhan, the FA course instructor. "The candidates on the course displayed utmost professionalism throughout, and each and every one of them in their own way connected and shared their knowledge of the game."

The objective of the training, which was designed by the FA's educational and developmental section, was to provide all participants with an introduction to the effective management and coaching philosophies. An emphasis was placed on the theoretical introduction to long-term player development, player characteristics and other coaching points. A series of practical activities, including warm-up exercises, passing and receiving adaptation, and games, proved to be exceptionally beneficial and was keenly received.

This initiative will continue with additional courses to be announced in the near future.
