RIO DE JANEIRO -- During his short visit to Rio de Janeiro, where he attended the Soccerex Global Convention alongside General Secretary Enrique Sanz and a delegation from the CONCACAF region, President Jeffrey Webb was invited to visit Zico Soccer Academy for a tour of its facilities with legendary Brazilian player and coach.

"It was an absolute pleasure to meet with Zico and see for myself the work he is doing with young players," said Webb."Player development is one of the keys to CONCACAF's future growth.Brazil is at the forefront of producing much of the world's best talent and it is important for us, as a Confederation, to understand their development strategy."

As part of this endeavor, at Soccerex on Monday, Sanz discussed the importance of preparation in ensuring major sports events leave a tangible social and cultural legacy. The expert panel also included Luis Fernandes, Executive Secretary, Ministry of Sport Brazil; and Michael Brown, CEO, LOC 2015 Asian Cup.

Webb will next travel to Sao Paulo, where he will attend Saturday's draw for the 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup.Mexico, 2011 Gold Cup champion, won the Confederations Cup in 1999 and is the CONCACAF representative for 2013.
