NEW YORK -- CONCACAF announced Tuesday the appointment of Horace Donovan Reid as its Director of Competitions, effective November 1.
Reid brings extensive experience in the football field as General Secretary of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) for the past five years and, previously, as Executive Director of the Marketing Division at the Caribbean Football Union (CFU).
"The integrity as well as the quality of play are a priority to CONCACAF and part of our goal is to see these traits reach the highest attainable level," expressed General Secretary Enrique Sanz.
As part of Reid's most recent engagements in the past years, he has been appointed as Member of CFU Legal Task Force, FIFA Security & Stadium Inspector (World Cup 2010) and Member of FIFA's Beach Soccer Standing Committee. He also served as Chairman of CONCACAF Administration Committee for a period of ten years, which culminated in 2011.
"In a desire to be an integral part of a progressive, dynamic and forward thinking confederation, I trust my skills and expertise in competitions management, as well as my vast experience in football administration, will contribute to the development of the sport in the CONCACAF region," said Reid. "It's a privilege that certainly comes with a great deal of responsibility."
