The action was taken in Zurich, Switzerland, when FIFA approved the composition of its new Marketing and Television Advisory Board, which now consists of Blazer and representatives with expertise in those areas from each Confederation of FIFA.

The Marketing and Television Advisory Board is responsible for advising FIFA's administration on the drafting and implementing of contracts with its various marketing/television partners.

"I look forward to working with FIFA's administration to maximize our commercial activities," said Blazer. "FIFA has become a global leader in television rights, sponsorship and technology. I am confident we will be even more successful going forward."

Blazer previously served on the board of directors of FIFA Marketing and Television AG, which was absorbed by FIFA.

He was selected for the position based on his wealth of experience in commercial areas at both the FIFA and CONCACAF levels.

The other representatives on the board are Reynald Temarii (Tahiti), Junji Ogura (Japan), Marios Lefkaritis (Cyprus), Ricardo Terra Teixeira (Brazil) and Jacques Anouma (Coite d'Ivoire).
