ZURICH, Switzerland - FIFA approved an additional $3 million Thursday to aid in the rebuilding of Haitian football infrastructure, devastated by last month's earthquake that killed an estimated 200,000.

The world body's finance committee approved the creation of a Special Projects Fund to assist in the reconstruction Haitian Football Federation's headquarters, technical centers and regional youth facilities and support for the local leagues and youth competition with basic equipment, FIFA said in a release.

The HFF's headquarters in Port-au-Prince collapsed the day of the 7.0-magnitude quake on January 12, killing 32 members of the federation.

FIFA initially had provided $250,000 in emergency assistance and Thursday's announcement came following CONCACAF President Jack Warner's visit to Haiti on Sunday and subsequent report to soccer's governing organization.
