Despite defeating the hosts 2:0 in the second-leg of Series 8 at the Estadio Azteca in Ciudad de México on Wednesday, Pachuca CF had lost the first-leg at home to Club América by a score of 4:1 on 25 September.
Damián álvarez and Christian Gimenez had the only goals for the tuzos against the aguilas in the Series 8 Second-Leg on Wednesday.
Club América will take on Vasco da Gama of Brazil in the Quarterfinal Series 1 scheduled for first-leg encounter on 10 October and the return-legs on 24 October.
Meanwhile, the other remaining CONCACAF team at the 2007 Copa Nissan Sudamericana, CD Guadalajara (MEX) will face Arsenal of Argentina in the Quarterfinal Series 4.
