Mexico came back from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2:2 tie against visiting Nigeria in an international friendly at the Estadio Olímpico Benito Juárez in Ciudad Juárez on Sunday.

Goals from Obafemi Martins in the 32nd and 52nd minutes, respectively, gave the super eagles a 2:0 lead, but Juan Carlos Cacho got the tricolores on the board in the 55th minute.

After Cacho tied it for Mexico in the 68th minute, Nigeria had a chance to win the match but Ikechukwu Uche missed a penalty kick in the 90th minute for the 2:2 final score.

The result ended the tricolores' two-game losing streak but they have not won in their last three matches.

Mexico will now head to Los Angeles, California USA to face Guatemala in a friendly scheduled for the L.A. Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday (17 October).

In another friendly on Sunday, Honduras posted a 1:0 home victory over Panama at the Estadio Tiburcio Carías Andino in Tegucigalpa.

After a scoreless first half, the crowd of 23,139 saw Walter Martínez scored the game-winner for the catrachos over the canaleros.
