Mexico's Pachuca CF lost their opening match at the FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2007 by a score of 1:0 to Etoile Sportive du Sahel of Tunisia at the National Stadium in Tokyo on Sunday.

Despite Pachuca CF having an advantage in shots and ball possession, Moussa Narry scored the only goal of the match for Etoile Sportive du Sahel with five minutes remaining for the victory.

"We're bowing out disappointed because of the defeat, but I'm very pleased with the level of my players," said Pachuca's Head Coach Enrique Meza. "I feel we worked well as a unit and had the better scoring chances, but we didn't capitalise on them and ended up losing the game."

The loss eliminates Pachuca from the FIFA Club World Cup 2007 and it will be the first time in the history of the event that a CONCACAF team does not reach the semifinals.

Meanwhile, Etoile Sportive du Sahel will meet CA Boca Juniors of Argentina in the semifinals of the FIFA Club World Cup 2007 in Tokyo on 12 December.
