In preparation for Stage 2 of CONCACAF World Cup Qualification this coming June, Mexico defeated China, 1:0, in an international friendly at Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington USA on Wednesday.

The crowd of 56, 416 saw Cesar Villaluz score the only goal of the match for Mexico in the 13th minute of the first half.

The win was the first for Tricolores under interim coach Jesús Ramírez, but it is only the second victory in their last seven games.

China continue their road trip with an encounter against El Salvador at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on 23 April. Meanwhile, Mexico will face Argentina in a friendly at Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego, California on 4 June.
