The USA were beaten 2:0 by the hosts, England in an international friendly at London's Wembley Stadium on Wednesday.

The crowd of 71,233 saw John Terry give home team the lead in the 38th minute. Steven Gerrard closed out the scoring in the 59th minute for England's seventh victory in nine meetings against the USA. The loss also ended the Stars & Stripes five-game unbeaten streak.

The USA, who are in preparation for Stage 2 of CONCACAF World Cup Qualification, continue their European road trip when they face Spain at the Estadio El Sardinero in Santander on 4 June.

The Stars & Stripes return home to take on Argentina at Giants Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on 8 June.
